Our Black Label Pinot Noir is our flagship wine, only made in exceptional vintages. It is a selection of the best barrels of the vintage, made from our highest Pinot Noir sites in a full, complex and robust style. Fruit that goes into this wine tends to be of a darker fruit spectrum, slightly riper with a fuller, more intense mid-palate weight.

Colour - A deep red colour with purple hues.
Nose - Shows dark cherry compote, with violets and plums. There's a cinnamon/clove spice character intermingled with forest floor and leather. An intense dark berry fruit palate.
Palate - Lovely acidity balance and a strong savoury edge. The tannin is grainy and supportive of other elements in the wine, contributed to evenly by skins, stalks and barrel.
A powerful, structural wine - one for the ages!
Winemaking notes:
- Handpicked into 10kg picking lugs from three different sites ranging from 860 – 1080m ASL
- Three Clones of Pinot Noir - 777 (20%), 115 (60%), MV6 (20%)
- Average of 15% whole cluster fermentation by native yeasts
- 21 days on skins
- Pressed and racked to French oak 228L barriques
- Natural malolactic fermentation in barrel
- 14 months in oak.
- Blended to tank and matured in stainless steel for 6 months
- No fining or filtration
